Maintenance

Proper care is essential to keep footwear in optimal condition for a long time. Each material requires special attention and using the right products will prevent premature deterioration. Proper maintenance not only prolongs the life of your shoes, but also contributes to the comfort and safety of wearing them.

General

After each wear, the shoes are cleaned and put on the appropriate sock size and shape. In order to ensure a longer period of use of the footwear and to maintain its aesthetic appearance, we recommend wearing 2-3 pairs of shoes alternately over the course of a week. Before applying any kind of cleaning or maintenance product, it is absolutely necessary to clean and dry the footwear. It is also very important to carefully read the instructions for use of such cleaning and maintenance products. Please do not wash your footwear in hot water or in a washing machine and do not use direct sources of heat for drying, but let the footwear dry slowly at room temperature.

Shoe cleaning

Remarks

Shoes with smooth or pressed leather uppers should be cleaned of dust with a soft cloth or brush, and grease stains or other impurities should be removed with a cloth dipped in an aqueous detergent solution.

Shoes with turned-up leather uppers (nubuck) should be brushed with a special brush for this type of leather; do not use water as stains may remain and use a special cream or lotion for cleaning. Remove oil or grease stains using special solutions for this type of skin.

Footwear with lacquered uppers, metallic leathers or other lacquered materials should be cleaned from dust with a soft, dry cloth. This type of footwear should be kept away from direct contact and the action of organic solvents (alcohol, acetone) or other chemicals.

Footwear with textile uppers is recommended to be worn in dry weather. After each wear, they should be cleaned from dust using a dry brush, like the one used for clothes. In case of stains, use a special cleaning solution or lotion for textile materials, following the instructions for use recommended by their manufacturers.

Footwear with replacement linings should be cleaned after each use with a damp cloth. Grease stains shall be cleaned with an aqueous detergent solution. Do not use a polishing solution.

The footwear is not a waterproof product and is recommended to be worn in dry weather, except for footwear specially designed for this environment. In particular it is recommended that footwear with textile or unfinished leather (nubuck, suede) uppers with decorative stitching or perforations and footwear with stitched uppers should only be worn in dry weather, as there is a risk of water penetration.

With the exception of specially designed footwear, soles do not have anti-slip properties and there is a danger of slipping, especially in wet or cold weather.

Store your footwear in dry, damp-free areas and avoid contact with chemicals (alcohol, acetone, gasoline, etc.).

Since natural linings have not been chemically treated to fix the pigment, vegetable dyes are used for dyeing, there is a risk of color migration. The use of matching or dark colored socks is recommended.

In the case of garments and/or accessories, it is generally recommended to follow the same instructions as for footwear and any special instructions indicated by the manufacturer/distributor (e.g. those concerning the temperature at which they should be washed).
